Gov. Abbott announced 84 JET grants totaling over $20 million on Oct 12: equipment money for Texas public junior and technical colleges, school districts, and charters. The new gear will train more than 7,400 students in year one. Alamo College got $375K to train 300 data scientists. Western Texas College got $192,500 to train 30 truck drivers. Independent private schools are NOT direct grantees. Read that again, then call the ISDs and junior colleges that just got the gear. They have equipment, students, and a mandate. You have instructors and employer relationships. Be the training partner before someone else is. The 2027 application round opens later this fall.
